Calculators increase students’ understanding of and fluency with arithmetic operations, algorithms, and numerical relationships. Calculators can promote higher-order thinking and reasoning needed for problem solving in our information- and technology- based society.

A simple pocket calculator developed using HTML, JavaScript , CSS and Bootstrap framework. In this web application, the user can enter calculations and view the output. They are able to input positive or negative values, and decimal or non-decimal values. The calculator follows the BODMAS order of operations rule: multiplication and division operators have precedence over addition and subtraction operators. The user can cancel their last entry using the ‘CE’ button, and can cancel their entire input using the ‘C’ button.

  • Extract files
  • Open the index.html file

To run the project, you will need to download WINrar or 7Zip to extract the .zip project file. After you download the program, unzip the .zip file using any zip programs such as Winrar or 7Zip. After extracting, copy the project folder to your destination folder. After you are done, open your browser and type the URL for example. foldername/index.html . You can also open the project by double clicking on .html file or opening the file using Google Chrome or any other browser.
